BodyFX is the first, long-lasting and non-invasive solution for body contouring by reducing subcutaneous fat deposits, cellulite levels and improving skin tone, based on pulsed radiofrequency current. The destruction of fat cells is proven in studies and it also improves skin tone.
How do BodyFX and MiniFX work?
BodyFX/MiniFX works using a variety of clinically proven effective technologies, including radiofrequency energy, deep tissue heating and vacuum. Radiofrequency has several advantages over other technologies, making it the ideal choice for non-invasive body contouring.
BodyFX/MiniFX uses two types of RF current:
- MHz base RF frequency.
- A series of pulses of ultra-short RF current of high amplitude and voltage.
The BodyFX/MiniFX device also works with the help of a vacuum and sensors that measure the surface of the skin. The vacuum allows the skin and subcutaneous tissue to be brought closer to the RF probes, allowing the deep skin and subcutaneous fat to be heated evenly to a depth of 2.5 cm.
Efficiency of radio frequency technology
In the BodyFX/MiniFX device, the alternating high-frequency and low-voltage current (radiofrequency current or RF), as it passes through the tissues, causes the molecules to oscillate, resulting in a local increase in temperature. The temperature is generated in the adipose tissue and is not transmitted beyond the skin surface. Fat cells have the property of high resistance to the RF current, which allows the generation of high heat compared to the surrounding tissues. In addition, they transfer heat poorly to surrounding tissues. Both properties of fat cells allow efficient overheating and low heat transfer to the surrounding area, allowing localised fat cell breakdown. The heat generated by the RF action simultaneously shrinks collagen and elastin, stimulating their re-growth and the re-growth of intercellular tissue, which restores skin tone. The latter effect is very important to achieve an optimal body contouring effect.
The basic RF current precisely and evenly heats the subcutaneous tissue and adipose tissue, causing collagen and elastin to shrink and re-form, and restoring skin tone. A series of pulses of ultra-short RF current of high amplitude and voltage selectively acts on the walls of fat cells, irreversibly damaging them so that they can no longer maintain intracellular pH. As a result, the fat cell collapses, according to a study * up to 30% of cells within 2 weeks after the procedure.
Where can BodyFX/MiniFX therapies be performed?
BodyFX can be performed on the abdomen, flanks, back, upper arms, thighs, inner thighs and knees.
The MiniFX is a smaller attachment of the same device, which can be used to perform the procedure on the chin or smaller areas such as the front and back of the upper arm at the shoulder angle, etc.
What effect can we expect?
After several repetitions of the BodyFX/MiniFX procedure, we notice a reduction in the volume of the treatment area (abdomen, legs), a reduction in the thickness of the subcutaneous fat or a reduction in the weight of the adipose tissue. The effect is visible immediately after the therapies are completed.
In addition to its effect on fat cells, the device also acts on collagen, which contracts due to the heat, thus increasing skin tone. This also stimulates the collagen to form again, ensuring a long-term effect on skin tone. The combination of a long-term reduction of subcutaneous fatty tissue and a simultaneous effect on skin tone is the ideal option for non-invasive body contouring. In some cases, it is an excellent alternative or complement to surgical liposuction. For example, BodyFX is the perfect solution if you want to get rid of your tummy and firm sagging skin.
Is the therapy safe?
The therapy is completely safe. To minimise discomfort, sensors continuously monitor the skin temperature continuously monitored by sensors that measure the temperature of the skin surface. If it rises above 42 °C, the device stops working.
Patients with pacemakers are not suitable candidates for procedures. Any other contraindications will be discussed with your doctor at the check-up.
Is therapy painful?
Most patients describe BodyFX/MiniFX therapy as painless. Due to the action of the radiofrequency energy and the vacuum used to remove stubborn fat pads, you will experience a warming of the skin and a gentle tugging sensation during the treatment. With individual pulses, the sensation of skin warming intensifies to a brief burning sensation.
What is the recovery after therapy like?
You do not need any recovery time after BodyFX/MiniFX therapy. You may notice redness and a feeling of overheating in the area of the device, which will subside after a few hours. This warmth is about the same as after a good massage, which does not prevent patients from carrying out their daily activities. Extremely rarely, a shallow bruise may appear as a result of the action of the vacuum, which disappears within a few days.
How many therapies do I need?
For the best possible results, we recommend at least 3 to 6 BodyFX/MiniFX treatments within a few weeks at the latest. After the first few treatments, you may already notice a gradual improvement in the appearance of the treated body part, with smoother and softer skin.
