Reduction of subcutaneous fat deposits

In recent years, there has been a boom in the approach of reducing fatty tissue on the body using non-invasive or minimally invasive techniques. Their effect is based on the gradual collapse of fat cells after the procedure and the removal of the fat cell contents by the body’s own mechanisms.

All these non-surgical procedures have more added value compared to conventional surgical liposuction, as there is mostly no recovery period to interfere with daily activities and the procedure is accompanied by a simultaneous restoration of skin tone.

Freezing of subcutaneous fat deposits, medical cryolipolysis, was the first technology to be successfully implemented in 2010. The device’s vacuum and intense cooling stimulate the gradual breakdown of fat cells, which lasts for several weeks after the procedure. The volume of subcutaneous fat is reduced by 15-30%, depending on the body part. It can be performed on the trunk, limbs and chin.

A similar effect is produced by intensive heating of the subcutaneous adipose tissue, medical pyrolipolysis, with the BodyFX and MiniFX devices, which also stimulates the gradual breakdown of fat cells.

High-intensity ultrasound  Ultrashape Power is a different approach, where the breakdown of the fat cell wall occurs during the procedure itself at a depth of 2.5 cm below the surface of the skin. The ultrasound energy acts mechanically on the fat cell wall without generating heat, so the procedure does not hurt.

IMPORTANT: It is not possible to lose weight using procedures that work to reduce subcutaneous fat deposits without extra energy being expended from fat cells through muscle work. What is the reason for this? Fat cells are a store of energy. Cryolipolysis, pyrolypolysis and high-intensity ultrasound stimulate the breakdown and release of stored energy from fat cells. This is redistributed imperceptibly to other fat cells on the body, and a reduction in subcutaneous fat is observed in the area of the procedure. If the energy released after the procedure is used in muscle cells through regular exercise along with a reduction in the daily intake of energy-dense foods, weight loss will also occur.
