CO2 lasers have been used in medicine for several decades. In dermatology, they are used to smooth scars, wrinkles and restore skin tone.
The first devices had a continuous pulsed wave format that heated the skin considerably, completely removing the surface layer (so-called resurfacing) and therefore the healing process was long, very painful and associated with frequent, permanent sequelae.
Fractionation of the laser beam and technical improvements in the generation of the light pulse have led to progress in reducing the healing period, the occurrence of adverse scar effects and the pain of the procedure, but not at the expense of reducing the effect.
CO2RE® laser special features
They are the simultaneous use of two forms of laser beam, which act on the surface of the skin and on the deep layers of the skin at the same time. This improves the appearance of the skin’s surface, removes spots, improves the skin’s surface and radiance, smooths wrinkles and rejuvenates the skin.
The laser can:
– smooth wrinkles, scars and stretch marks,
– improve skin elasticity, firmness and thickness,
– tighten enlarged pores on the face,
– remove growths,
– fade some pigment spots and even out skin tone,
– shrink the eyelid skin, which has the effect of lifting the eyelids and smoothing wrinkles around the eyes – i.e. laser eyelid resurfacing.
