Operation of the device
A computer takes a photo to collect key information and analyse the characteristics that affect both the health and resilience of the skin. It can measure colouration (pigmentation), pore size, porphyrins, damage caused by UV radiation from the sun and tanning beds, the presence of redness, capillaries and wrinkles. It then compares the results obtained with the average values typical for your age group, gender and skin type, further supporting an independent view that provides the basis for designing a tailored treatment and restoration programme. With Visia® we also monitor the improvement and effectiveness of the recommended therapy.
Preparation
Do not apply SPF creams or make-up to your face for at least two hours, or even longer, before Visia® photography, as they interfere with the analysis. Furthermore, washing just before the procedure removes the fatty film from the surface or increases the redness and also causes an incorrect result.
Duration
The process only takes a few minutes. The dermatologist will focus on the problem areas and advise you on the appropriate care, as well as on possible aesthetic or medical procedures to improve both the appearance and health of your skin.
Visia® is a computer-controlled device which examines the condition of the skin in eight projections. Originally designed solely for research purposes in skin care, it is now used for skin analysis in modern dermatology centres. It allows us to take standard, polarised and UV photographs to measure the condition of the skin on the face. It also enables us to take a closer look at specific areas of the skin. The result is individual and includes recommendations for each patient.
The Visia® computer takes a photo of the skin and gathers key information by using multi-spectral photography to analyse the skin’s properties which affect its health and resilience. It measures skin colouration (pigmentation), pore size, porphyrins, damage caused by UV radiation from the sun (and tanning beds) and the presence of redness as well as capillaries in wrinkles. Based on the results, your dermatologist can design an individualised programme for basic therapy and skin restoration. In addition, the Visia® is used to monitor the improvement of the skin and the effectiveness of the therapy advised.
Your first scan will be your baseline from which progress and success of subsequent procedures will be measured. Depending on the condition of your skin and your goals, the Visia® analysis may be repeated between the advised procedures.
