The neck is one of the most exposed parts of the body, along with the face, arms and front of the chest.
The first signs of ageing are on the neck. The skin is thinner here than on the face, thus the effects of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid breakdown can be seen a decade earlier (or more) than on the face.
Neck and chest skin can be rejuvenated by restoring skin tone. This is most commonly done using Pelleve radiofrequency technology or more invasive methods such as sublative rejuvenation and superpulsed fractional CO2 laser. Redness on the sides of the neck is removed with ELOS technology and vascular laser. Depending on the diagnosis, brown spots on the neck can be faded with skin bleaching, ELOS technology or chemical peels. In the case of the highly visible neck muscle, which runs from the collarbone to the jawline and is particularly prominent in the grimaces, the appearance is successfully corrected using botulinum toxin.
The skin on the neck and chest should not be forgotten when applying sun protection and daily care. In summer, it is most important to use creams with a very high SPF and antioxidants every day, and creams with strong antioxidants overnight, which your dermatologist can advise you on.
