Redness and veins

Sensitive skin, prone to redness or veins, is mainly recognised by its rapid reaction to various external (cold, heat, humidity, chafing, improper care) and internal factors (stress, consumption of certain foods and drinks).

Red patches appear on the skin of the face and neck, or the redness may be expressed by gentle peeling in the areas near the nose, between and above the eyebrows (seborrheic dermatitis). The skin changes are accompanied by tightening, itching and occasionally mild burning pain. The skin is generally thin and is penetrated by a plexus of blood vessels. Such skin can occur at any age and is slightly more characteristic of dry skin types and occasionally of normal, combination and oily skin types.

Redness (Rosacea)

Urticaria is a chronic skin disease that affects the skin on the face and eyes. It is characterised by both exacerbations and improvements. The exact causes are still unknown, but lifestyle and the environment can accelerate the development of the disease. There are various suspected causes: changes in blood flow, microscopically small skin mites (Demodex), inflammation of the follicles, sun damage to the skin and an increased immune or inflammatory response of the skin due to psychological factors.

Treatment of redness

There is no cure for redness, but there are therapies to prevent exacerbations and address the various symptoms. The signs and symptoms vary from person to person. For pimples and red cells, the doctor usually prescribes an antibiotic in the form of tablets or isotretinoin capsules and appropriate therapy in the form of an ointment.

Tiny veins can be removed using vascular lasers, IPL or ELOS technology. By closing the veins, the blood supply to the upper part of the skin is reduced. The patient notices a reduction in the frequency of facial flushing, and the disease subsides for a period of time. Usually, the effect of two to three laser treatments is visible for up to one year, after which the vein removal procedure must be repeated.
